In the fresh suit filed by the main opposition party on Wednesday, the PDP opined that the Adamu-led APC NWC acted in illegality in the process that produced the party’s national officers and candidates.
The PDP is also demanding that all candidates produced by APC for the 2023 general elections be disqualified from the race having been allegedly produced in breach and gross violation of the 1999 Constitution and Electoral Act 2022.
The suit filed on behalf of the PDP by Ayo Kamaldeen Ajibade, (SAN), before
Justice Inyang Edem Ekwo of the Federal High Court, according to the party, was predicated on a judgment of the Court on September 30, 2022, which declared all actions and activities of the dissolved Extraordinary Convention Committee of the APC led by Gov. Mai Mala Buni as illegal, unlawful and unconstitutional
During a preliminary hearing in the suit, Justice Ekwo fixed November 22 for mention of the suit with an order that all the 53 persons listed by PDP in the suit as defendants be served with hearing notices in their respective locations.
Some of the defendants listed in the suit by the PDP include Adamu, presidential flag bearer of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, his running mate, Kashim Shetima, all Governorship candidates and their deputies, Senatorial and House of Representatives candidates of the party, as well as various officials of the NWC.
