Kwara United Football Club striker. Godwin Oshagbemi has been invited, along 38 others, to the U20 National team camp ahead of the World Youth Championship scheduled to come up in Argentina during the year.
The Championship is scheduled to come up between 20th May to 11th June, 2023.
Head Coach, Isah Ladan Bosso today invited 39 players to camp, among whom are four goalkeepers, 10 defenders, 10 midfielders and 15 attackers, who were drawn from teams in the domestic league.
Oshagbemi, a Kwara Football Academy graduate joined Kwara United FC ahead of the ongoing NPFL season, and has continued to prove himself in the team, securing the goal that secured a vital away win for his team in the Matchday Nine fixture against El-kanemi Warriors in Maiduguri.
The Flying Eagles, who finished third at the Africa U20 Cup of Nations in Egypt last month, are one of four teams that will fly Africa’s flag at the finals, with the others being Senegal, The Gambia and Tunisia.
All the invited players have been told to report at the Chida Hotel, Abuja on Sunday, 16th April. Training sessions will commence on Monday.
The 2023 World Youth Championship will now hold in Argentina, following FIFA's withdrawal of the hosting rights from Indonesia and handed the same over to Argentina.
