Former Manchester United defender, Paul Parker has told Erik ten Hag to drop Marcus Rashford from his starting lineup
He claimed that Rashford has been a constant feature because Ten Hag is afraid of a backlash from fans, insisting that the forward is not at his best and should be benched.
Rashford, who emerged one of the best performers for the Red Devils this season and made them feel less pain over the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo, has dropped form, scoring just twice in the last 10 games in all competitions.
And now, it has resulted in the Red Devils slipping up in the Top four race and Parker claimed that the manager is scared that the fans will turn on him if he drops Rashford as he did with Ronaldo.
The club legend told BonusBetCodes, “Erik ten Hag can’t afford to sub him off, especially not if Man United are chasing a goal.
“He is worried that he will get a crazy bounce back from the fans if he takes him off. That’s why he also might think he needs to play him in the starting lineup.”
Parker said that fans should not expect any more goals from the England international, insisting the 24-year-old does not interact or integrate with the team.
