The Kwara state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed its dissatisfaction with Hon. Ismail Tijani, the member representing Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency, for voting against party directives during the House of Representatives speakership election on Tuesday. The party has invited him for a discussions
Hon. Ismail Tijani, the representative for Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency, voted for Hon. Ahmed Wase during the House of Representatives speakership election. This action was contrary to the directives of the All Progressives Congress (APC), The video of his vote was broadcasted by Just Event Online TV on Tuesday night
In a communique issued by Alh Folaranmi Tajudeen Aro, State Publicity Secretary APC after an emergency meeting of the Kwara APC, the party’s state chapter expressed its support for the state governor, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, and endorsed all actions taken on national issues, including the leadership of the National Assembly.
However, the party raised concerns about Hon. Tijani’s opposing stance on the speakership of the House of Representatives. The party emphasized the need for unity in Kwara state under Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s leadership. As a result, the party has resolved to invite Hon. Tijani for discussions before the 23rd of June.
Additionally, the party extended congratulations to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for being elected as the chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum and for receiving a national honour.
According to Hon. Ismail Tijani’s response during his interview with Just Event Online TV, he considers himself a dedicated member of the party. However, he stated that the Kwara state chapter of the APC has not officially communicated with him regarding his actions during the House of Representatives speakership election.
In light of this, Hon. Tijani pledged to honour the party’s invitation and engage in discussions whenever they reach out to him officially. This suggests that he is willing to address the concerns raised by the party and engage in dialogue to resolve the issue
