The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) is planning to introduce Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode for its exams, as stated by the Head of National Office, Patrick Areghan. This move aligns with his vision for WAEC's future.
However, there are challenges, particularly in practical and essay papers. Factors like computer literacy, facilities, and electricity availability will influence CBT adoption. WAEC may start with objective questions and eventually expand to theory and practical papers, possibly allowing a choice between CBT and traditional methods. Mr. Areghan also aims for full digitization of WAEC's operations in the future.
